The ROLM FLASH button operates like a switch hook and places the caller on that line on a "soft" or temporary hold and gives you dial tone, so that you can call another inside or outside number for the purpose of making a "Consultation Call".   The FLASH button is also used with to initialize other features like CONF or PARK.

To use the FLASH key to make a consultation call simply...
Advise the caller you are going to place them on hold while you call someone else then...
Press ...... then
Dial the other outside telephone number or internal extension.
(Note that after pressing the FLASH button the first caller will not hear the dialed numbers that follow or any music-on-hold)

To reconnect to the first caller simply...
Press ....
