The ROLM MUTE button mutes out the telephone stations active speaker, handset or headset receiver microphone.  Thus the caller on your active line will not hear any of your end of the conversation or background room noise.

In order to use the MUTE feature you must have a MUTE labeled button.  There is no Feature Access Codes that can be used in place of having a MUTE button.

To initiate this feature while you are on the speaker, handset or headset   simply ...
Press ... Mute
(NOTE - If the red light next to this feature button does not turn on after pressing the MUTE button, your conversation or background room noise is not muted from being heard by the other callers on that line.)

Press ... Mute ... again.
(NOTE - If the red light next to this feature button does not turn off after pressing the MUTE button, your conversation or background room noise is still muted from being heard by the other callers on that line.)
